Music and Literacy Academy

Beats and Books has a vision to build a music and literacy academy to promote literacy, provide after-school tutoring, and develop technology skills. These activities used to be facilitated in personal homes and outdoor venues before we started renting our current house at 1 Garnaal, Pellsrus. This facility would also house the music academy, which teaches students vocal and instrumental performance skills.

Violins Against Violence

Stepping in the direction of our long-term goals for our music program, in 2017 we kick-started our first violin ensemble for beginners. It was one of our major highlights not only in 2017 but also since the inception of Beats and Books.
We look forward to what lies ahead as we forge into the adventures of building a sustainable orchestra for young people.
